This Speech Conveys us about the heart of a real man, a soft hearted man, who dedicated his life towards the wildlife , who created a forest by his own work , he is the "Forest Man Of India" Jadav payeng also known as Molai.
Jadav "Molai" Payeng was born on 1963 . He is an environmental activist and forestry worker from jorhat , Over the course of several decades. He planted and tended trees on a Sandbar of the river Brahmaputra turning it into a reserve . The forest is called "Molai Kathani" located near Kakilamukh of jorhat and encompasses an area of about 1,360 acres.
At 16 , environmental activist Jadav "Molai" Payeng saw hundreds of dead Snakes , the victims of a major drought Occuring On majuli Reserve - the world's largest river island located in the Brahmaputra river in india , that is when he planted around twenty bamboo seedling on the sandbar .
Jadav's life began to change in the fall of 2007 , when a photojournalist stumbled upon payeng and discovered him seeding his forest and wrote an article about him. The forest which came to be known as " Molai Kothani " , now houses Bengal Tigers , Indian rhinoceros , Over 100 deers and rabbits besides apes and several varieties of birds, including a large number of vultures valcon , arjun , ejar , goldmohur, korai moj and Simolu . Bamboo Covers an area of Over 300 hectares.
The government only learned about Jadav's forest in 2008 when a herd of around 100 wild elephants strayed into it. Since then , they are regular visitors to the forest every year . They generally stay in the forest for around six months .
The molai forest and jadav payeng have been the subject of a number of award winning documentary films. In 2012 , a locally made film documentary produced by Jitu kalita , " Molai Forest " , was Screened at the JNU , Delhi .
In 2013 , a film documentary , " Foresting Life " was made by Aarti Shrivastava .
In 2013 , another documentary , "Forest Man' , made by William Douglas McMaster, awarded the best documentary award at 2014 Cannes Film Festival - USA . His inspirational story is also being tought in ecology classes at schools across the united states .
In his honour , the molai forest was named after padmashri jadav " molai " payeng the indian environmental activist also known as the real hero of india , the forest man jadav payeng and also forestry worker who tries to save the island where he lives by planting one tree everyday .
